about

Teerath Agrawal at podium
// executive director, SEDS India

A 4th-year Electrical & Computer Science Engineering student at VIT Chennai, currently working across embedded systems firmware and hardware development with applications spanning battery management systems, CanSats, and flight systems.

Current focus areas include ARM Cortex-M based MCUs, embedded Linux, RTOS, and PCB design — moving from prototype-grade development toward register-level, production-grade firmware and hardware.

Focused on being at the forefront of technological advancement in the aerospace and defence industry — through contributions spanning embedded system design, firmware development, telemetry, digital filter design, and PCB design.

Currently learning & building

FreeRTOS
Working through the Shawn Hymel / DigiKey lecture series — task scheduling, queues, semaphores. Next: port the CanSat firmware to FreeRTOS as the application project.
SOURCE Shawn Hymel · DigiKey
Embedded C
Self-study course on ElectronicWings — sharpening register-level, production-grade firmware skills to move beyond Arduino-IDE abstractions.
SOURCE ElectronicWings
PCB Design / KiCad
First end-to-end KiCad project completed: inverter schematic → layout, referenced from a tutorial as a learning vehicle. Bridging breadboard prototyping into proper hardware design — footprint selection, DRC, routing, Gerber output.

On the build list

CanSat → FreeRTOS port
Refactor the CanSat avionics firmware onto FreeRTOS — separate tasks for IMU, baro, telemetry, and logging with proper inter-task communication.
Bare-metal STM32 firmware
Move off ESP32/Arduino IDE for at least one project — STM32 with HAL-free, register-level C from the reference manual.
AI-based SOC estimator
Extend the BMS research with a learned SOC model trained on simulated and measured cell data — comparison against the Kalman-filter family.
GitHub portfolio
Publish all firmware, MATLAB models, and PCB design files with proper READMEs and reproducible build instructions.
